Merijn Schoeber: What is going on, guys? Merijn of Student Aesthetics. Welcome to the 14th episode of My Shredded Lifestyle. Today is Monday. I had a pretty rough weekend together with Stan. We went to Loveland, which was the previous vlog and the week before that I had a tour with Alphalete which was amazing. So I had an amazing week but as far as I my diet went and my workout, that was not too amazing because on tour, you know, we didn’t train too often plus we had some good nights out and also I had like a little bit more food than I should have because I am cutting body fat right now. So when I get back from the trip, my weight was a little bit higher but I’m already almost back to where I was before the trip so I probably will be there tomorrow to be honest. So that’s all good. But today is Monday. That means it’s time to get back on track and – yeah. That’s what we’re going to do today.
First of all, I’m going to have a meal. I’m actually starving so that’s just going down. I’m going to have like a meal from Calculated Food, tilapia salsa. The reason I’m doing this now is because it’s only – it only takes like three minutes and I’m done. I am hungry. I guess it’s going to be our first menu today. An apple while I’m waiting three minutes.
All right. So we got the meal right here. I’m going to give it a taste test. This is the first time I’m trying the salsa. It’s tilapia with salsa, and rice and broccoli.
I don’t know what this is though. These are some egg whites so there’s an egg as well. That’s why it’s so high in protein. But these are the macros: 7 grams of fat, 50 grams of protein, 45 grams of carbs. And I had that apple as well. Fill a little bit more of carbs in. so I think this is enough for the pre-workout meal.

Stan: What up?
Merijn Schoeber: After a rough weekend, we’re going – we’re going to kill shit again so we’re actually starting out a new routine right now, a new split. It’s going to be a legs push pull routine. Okay? So it’s going to be three days on, then one day off and then repeat. All right. so the days are going to differ a little bit every single week and we’re going to keep the volume slightly a bit low because were both putting right now and you’re obviously almost training like, you know, five to six times a week so you don’t want to do too much volume especially when cutting. So let’s get with started today’s legs. So that’s a rough start of the week.
Speaker: I’m going to go to one song, one song only.
Merijn Schoeber: So I know that the weight look kind of ridiculous. It was like car tires. These are the only weights they got here. So this 130kgs. Let’s say we’re doing the back squat three to five reps so lower average, we’re using a belt as well. On the other day we do front squats without a belt, higher reps, so we’re going to put these [0:03:51] [in use]. So today we’ll really try to move as much weight as we possibly can still without going to failure.
All right. So first workout of the new split done. I think it went pretty well, didn’t it? When we look at the weekend, happy weekend, so we survived, man.
Stan: Yes.
Merijn Schoeber: So this is a good start of the week, it was legs obviously so it is kind of the harder to workout.
All right guys. So I just got back home, took a shower and I wanted to do a little physique update. I’ll show you guys as well what I look like when I didn’t train up my body before because that is obviously going to look a whole lot different. So I may look a little flat right now but I want to show you guys during the series kind of like physique updates from different angles, different lighting, different [0:05:22] [bumps] and everything because when you do fitness that all comes into play. Let me show you.
All right, guys. So I’m going to have the post workout meal right now. The reason I’m not dressed yet is because I’m way too freaking hungry. You know, we did the physique update, so you had to flex and shit, so I’m starving, man after the leg days. I’m going for half-foot long double chicken, no cheese and all that, and all the veggies. You’re doing foot long? Stan is here as well.
Stan: Foot long, same thing as you, but just extra gain.
Merijn Schoeber: How many calories are you on per day?
Stan: Around 3,000. I just came back home from vacation, so –
Merijn Schoeber: He has an easy time with –
Stan: – I need to get back into it.
Merijn Schoeber: He has an easy time losing fat.
Stan: Yeah.
Merijn Schoeber: So I have to go on little lower calories but I’m still – still I’ll do 2,500 at the moment. I’ll probably not going to go much lower during the steady phase. I’m taking things kind of, you know, slow and steady which is what I think is the way to go, if you’re a natural. Especially, I was trying to keep that strength high, just go up very, very slowly. Right now I took kind of like a little diet break of one week, you know, touring well awfully but that’s all good because I’m just – I’m just cruising, man. Taking it easy, not any rush. No breaking crash diet, just enjoying life and getting shredded pretty much. I’m going to eat this. I’ll probably have some more food next to this as well because it’s just a little bite, man.
Stan: It’s small as fuck.
Merijn Schoeber: Yeah. I was too lazy to like really like go to grocery store and get like a bigger meal for something else because it’s raining outside. Subway is next door so I can go with the flow.
Continuing the post workout gains, I just look at MyFitnessPal. I didn’t really get any fats in today. I just got a couple of eggs, kind of a grow meal so this is the eggs, rice cakes, full [0:07:27] [indiscernible] meal and get a nice turkey as well. Usually I will use catsup as well but I ran out. I’m just working with some foods I have here right now because it’s – it’s raining. It’s pretty good to be honest, like a snack.

Yeah, basically afterwards, I’m going to have some people over, just going to chill for the rest of the night.
