Merijn Schoeber: What is going on, guys? Merijn here for Student Aesthetics and today is Saturday and today is festival day. All right, the festival I got planned today is Loveland Festival. Stan asked me to join because the lineup is pretty, pretty insane. And obviously, I just got back, you know, from the world tour so I woke up pretty early this morning, got a bunch of work done and now we’re going to hit an early gym session because we got to – we want to get that out of the way because we know that tomorrow we’re not going to hit the gym, all right? So that’s something you kind of like – you can estimate if you go to a festival or, you know, you go out, you know the next day you’re not going to trace, you probably want to hit a workout on that particular day to make sure you get that frequency going in the gym. So that’s what we’re about to do first.

 

So I’m going to train fast because it’s still early and also I didn’t get much sleep. So what I’m going to do is take a couple of scoops of pre-workout, probably do like one-and-a-half scoops. All right, so we made it to the gym and with Stan the Man. But that – we’re going to the festival, so obviously we got to get the chest bumps going. I’m just kidding. It just happened to be push day today, so chest, shoulders, triceps, I think calves as well. Stop zooming in on my calves. All right, so we’re going to do bench press first. I haven’t done this in a couple of weeks – oh, like two weeks. Two weeks?

 

Speaker: Two, three weeks.

 

Merijn Schoeber: Yeah, about two to three weeks, so I’m going to start off, you know, a little lighter than I was before. We’re on a 7.5 kg, try to get about five reps.

 

Speaker: Let’s get it.

 

Merijn Schoeber: Let’s see.

 

Yes.

 

I did three sets there, five reps, pretty easy, no failure which I usually don’t know any compounds. So second exercise is pause movement which you saw in my last push workout together with Rob. We started off with like inclined dumbbells. We did the pause regular bench press. Today I’m doing the pause inclined dumbbell. So I always like do one pause movement. Obviously, you don’t – have to drop your weight, this is a lot heavier. I feel crazy contraction of the chest.

 

All right, so very nice isolation over the chest. I’ll finish it up. One thing you see very often here is the people actually press the dumbbells at the top, something you don’t want to do. Actually, you want to do them up here. You get them too far, you may put stress on your shoulder – actually, take the tension off the chest, right. That’s why cables are very good as well. If you want to do it with the dumbbells, just make sure to not go too far ahead, all right? And it means you don’t want to touch it, it’s also because that is [0:04:13] [resisting].

 

All right, so I just got back from the workout. It went pretty well actually even though, you know, it was morning, I was still fasted. Like I don’t usually train fast, to be honest, but it did feel good and now I’m freaking ready to smash the day. For those that are wondering, by the way, why I did it, making shoulder presses after the chest flyes, because it’s actually compound a lift. Actually – like usually I get those out of the way first is because my chest is a lagging body part, so I want to put some extra emphasis on that. As you will see in like my free [0:05:41] [leg routine] that is up on my YouTube channel, you will do all the compounds first and then isolations. I’m just doing it slightly different for myself, you know, to prioritize my chest at this point.

 

I got about an hour before I have to head out and pick up Stan and head to the festival. What I’m going to do first is actually eat something. You know, obviously, I want to get food in because today I’m going to a festival. And like I’ve said in like previous festival vlogs is that at a festival, you know, you don’t really eat that much. I do. At least like you don’t eat proteins, right, because you got like some options there, but they’re usually pretty low in protein.

 

So, I want to get, you know, like at least like more than half of my protein intake before I go to the festival. And I’ll have some protein afterwards usually as well. So, that’s pretty much what I do. So, I’m going to see what I’m going to eat. It’s just probably going to be like bowl of oats and then like, you know, at least like 50 grams of protein powder in there. I’ll probably take like a protein bar with me. And then, I’m going to have one calculated meal. Let me just see which one is the highest in protein.

 

For like three minutes. I’m going to have an apple as well while this is heating up. This is, you know, like 50 grams of protein. And then I’ll take a shower, like pretty much get dressed and all that and then have like another meal right before I go, maybe, you know, take something with me.

 

I’m getting 50 grams in there. So, that’s the post-shower meal right there. All right, so, pretty much all ready to go right now. This is what the outfit looks like. [0:07:11] [Indiscernible] game on fleek again. Pretty epic. And I got these sunglasses. So, I think we’re ready. Yeah. We freaking are. Let’s go.

 

Stan: Smile, bitch.

Stan: Healthy cookies.

Merijn Schoeber: Like I said, you got to get protein in before you go. Make sure, because you don’t know what is served there. Today, it’s going to be two of my crew, me and my boy, Stan. Been here since day one. Today, we’re going to take over the whole shit, have a good time, celebrate – celebrate life pretty much.

Merijn Schoeber: Yeah. This is going to be bro day, man. Have a good time. Also, Stan is actually – he’s single as well. So, if any of you girls want to slide in – I’m just saying. I’m just saying.
